Mike Gaukroger has worked in Maxillofacial surgery for over 30 years and has been a consultant at Barnet and Chase Farm since 1994.

He qualified in dentistry from Kings College Hospital in 1977 and in Medicine in 1985 from Charing Cross Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and of Edinburgh and a Fellow of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of the local BDA and a speaker at local postgraduate educational meetings.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of his specialty both as surgeon and teacher. Prior to his consultant appointment he was lecturer and Honorary Senior Registrar at Kings College Hospital and published papers on microvascular reconstruction in Head and Neck Cancer and dentofacial infections. Since his appointment at Chase Farm he has developed a Dentofacial deformity treatment service with his Orthodontic consultant colleagues Suren Perera and Maren Gaukroger and this is now an area where the local service is second to none.

Mike Gaukroger is actively involved in the management of head and neck services locally in his role as divisional chairman for head and neck services in the Barnet and Chase Farm Trust. He and his young family are local residents of Winchmore Hill and his wife Maren is Consultant Orthodontist at Barnet Hospital.
